Robert and I had been dating a year and half when he proposed. We already knew that we were going to get married, and I knew he'd been planning a little. What I did not know was how wonderful and creative he is. I had always told Robert that I was more excited by the proposal than the ring or the money - I wanted to have a great story. And, wow, did he ever beat my wildest dreams.

Rick and I were engaged in Venice, Italy on Dec.20th 2003. We will be married on June 30th, 2006 after patiently waiting both of our graduations from graduate school. We are an example of two very different cultures coming together for love.

My fiancé Thom and I always had a standing joke about getting married.
He would always say why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. I
had bought him a stuffed cow about 6 years ago as a birthday present. Last
September we went to Virginia to attend his nephew's wedding and decided
to make a vacation out of it and went on to Washington, D.C.
